GRAF-RECKE-STRASSE Düsseldorf

Living at the Zoopark

The Düsseltal district is one of the greenest in the regional capital Düsseldorf and is characterised by high residential quality in a nevertheless central location. Around the Zoopark lies the zoo district with Graf-Recke-Straße as an important main axis. Here, we have developed a transparent residential ensemble that offers an unobstructed view of the greenery at the back of this very same Zoopark. From the very beginning during the planning phase, we placed great emphasis on meeting all green building requirements.

The Düsseldorf office of HPP Architects designed this new, small residential quarter for us. It consists of a building block and an angular structure, each with six storeys, including a staggered top storey. It has a total of 82 flats between 60 and 240 square metres in size, as well as about 100 car and 100 bicycle parking spaces. Centrally located between the buildings is a sheltered, green inner courtyard with play facilities and adjacent old trees. The residential complex thus integrates harmoniously into the mature zoo district.
